Note: f age in December last (1843--hence she was born in 1833), was appointed her guardian by David D. Hillis, Surrogate of Onondaga County, New York, dated 24 Sept. 1844. (Onondaga County Guardianships, Book C., p. 178)
Her birth date and death date are both given as 17 Dec. On the oakwood Cemetery carda at the Onondaga Historical Association. I do not know if this is accurate--that she died on her birth date. Ellen died 17 Dec. 1855 in Fond du Lac, Wiisconsin. Her body was shipped back to Syracuse, New York, and buried at Rose Hill Cemetery 21 March 1856. The remains were reinterred at Oakwood Cemetery in Syracuse 1 October 1884.
