a. Note:   d $119.47 from the estate of Elihu L. Phillips (1800-1884). This indicates that Lucia M. (Phillips) Outwater Phillips was a nephew of Elihu L. Phillips (see notes under the latter). She and her daughgter, Emily, are named specifically in the will of her uncle, Elihu L. Phillips.
  Danforth Genealogy, by John Joseph May (1902), p. 223:
 "Lucia M. Phillips, b. 28 July, 1817, m. in 1835, Peter Outwater, b. about 1809, d. 8 June, 1861.
  Lucia M. Outwater visited her uncle, Elihu L. Phillips, about 1866, and helped nurse him during an illness (see 1884 deposition of Annie Rahling in the probate records of Elihu L. Phillips).

  The Evening Telegram (Syracuse, NY), 22 Nov. 1900:
 "MRS. PETER OUTWATER DIED IN ITHACA TODAY
 "Mrs. Peter Outwater, widow of the late Peter Outwater of Syracuse, died at her home in Ithaca this morning ages about 80 years. The deceased was the mother-in-law of the Hon. Andrew D. White, ambassasor to Germany, and was the grandmother of Frederick Davies White of James street, this city. Mrs. Outwater was a most amiable lady and was highly esteemed by a large circle of friends, who will deeply mourn her death. She leaved one daughter, Miss Emily Outwater. The remains will be brought to Syracuse for interment. The funeral takes place tomorrow."
  New York Times, 24 Nov. 1900, p. 9:
 "OUTWATER.--On Thursday, Nov. 22, at Ithaca, N. Y., Lucia M. Phillips, widow of the late Peter Outwater, in her 84th year.
 "Funeral at Sage Chapel, Cornell University. Interment at Syracuse, N. Y."
  The Cornell Daily Sun (Ithaca, NY), ?? Nov. 1900:
 "Died--On Thursday, Nov. 22d., Lucia M. Phillips, widow of the late Peter Outwater; born in Manlius, N. Y. July 28, 1817.
 "Funeral at Sage Chapel at four o'clock Thursday afternoon. Interment at oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse, N. Y."
