Continued: The father of William Charles Steinhoff (1851-1933) must be one of the following sons of Anthony H. Ribble and Nancy Ann Teeples: George Ribble (1822-1909) Philip Ribble (1825-1907) Anthony Ribble (c.1827- ) Jacob Ribble (1830-1870) or Charles Ribble (1833- ) The more likely candidate(s) among these five brothers might be determined by the circa 1850 proximity to William Charles Mother: Anna Perkins (1833-1880), daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth (Ferrier) Perkins. Anna was likely born in Markham Twp., Norfolk County, Ontario, Canada. From the birth places of her siblings, the Perkins family appears to have been in Scarborough (near Toronto), Home District, Upper Canada about 1842, then in Parkhill, (now in Middlesex County, Ontario) about 1845, and then in a place called "Holten" (place name not located) around 1850. Her parents and other Perkins family members moved to Michigan sometimes after that and settled mainly in and around Ruby, St. Clair County -- where Isaac died in 1855. The Perkins family has not been located on the 1850 US Census nor the 1851 Census of Canada. They may have moved to Michigan between the censuses (in late 1850 or early 1851), which would explain why they are not enumerated on either. Future research should focus on which of the Ribble boys may have been in the same area(s) as the Perkins family around 1850 when William Charles Steinhoff would have been conceived.
