  The 1889 death certificate for his daughter, Maggie McCrimmon, shows her father as "J. K."
  Kenneth applied for a land grant in Canada in 1850. Public Archives of Canada Upper Canada Land Petitions (RGI L 3, Vol, 319, Mc5/183-184-185. reel C- 2185; copied 11 June 1986) show:
 April 1850, Kenneth McCrimmon of West Hawkesbury twp., co. Prescott, Ontario, Canada, 8th son of Farquhar McCrimmon who emigrated from Scotland in 1815 in ship Eliza, petitions for land [with signature] Father's affidavit attached lists all children, ages, etc. [see father's notes]. Kenneth McRae, Sr. and Kenneth McRae, Jr. also signed affidavits attached.
 Approved for scrip equal to 100 acres on 3 July 1850.

  In the 1851 Census, he is noted as an apprentice carriage maker in West Hawkesbury Twp., Prescott Co., Ontario. From later census records, he is noted as a farmer in 1860, a wheelwright in 1870 and a carpenter in 1880.

  (NOTE: Esther (Grogan) who married Donald/Daniel McLeod was a sister of Mary (Grogan) who married Kenneth McCrimmon; these families moved to Minn. and then Calif.)
  Kennth McCrimmon married Mary Jane Grogan in 1859 or early 1860--probably Canada, moving to Minnesota shortly afterward. The couple had five children: William Henry, George, Rachel, Edward and Maggie. They were all born in Minnesota, excepting Rachael who was born in Canada about 1865 (apparently on a trip back to Ontario). All of them, excepting Rachel, proceeded their father in death.
  Kenneth and his family removed to California in 1874. They settled in Oakland, Alameda Co., and resided at No. 317 Third Street. He evidently patented land in Sonoma County in 1883, and also owned land in the San Juaquin Co.

It is unknown how or if the Cambells are related.)

  Kenneth McCrimmon died 13 March 1907. At the time of his death, his residence was 5659 Genoa Street, Oakland. He is buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Oakland where the rest of his family (excepting little Edward) also is interred.

 "McCRIMMON--In this city [Oakland], March 15th, 1907, Kenneth McCrimmon, beloved husband of the late M.J. McCrimmon, and father of Mrs. Rachel Vandebos, a member of the oakland Lodge No. 2 A.O.U.W., a native of Canada, aged 73 years, 11 months, 23 days.
