Notes
a. Note:   r was a son of John and Catherine McCrimmon. However, I find no primary record of this relationship except for a later compiled list of the Eliza passengers that indicates he was the son of John.
Farquhar McCrimmon was born about 1785 in Glenelg, Co. Inverness, Scotland. He married in 1814 Rachel McRae, daughter of Alexander McRae (b. 1769) and Margaret (1776). Rachel McRae was born abt. 1793 in Glenelg, Inverness, Scotland. There is a marriage record (order #6545710) for Farquhar MacCrimmon to Rachel MacRae district of Glenelg for the year 1814 at the Scottish Records office in Edinburgh (need to obtain).
Parish records of Glenelg, Co. Inverness, Scotland show:
Catherine McCrimmon born to father Farquhar, of Kirktown (Kirkton), Inverness Co., Scotland. Her birth was 24 January 1815, and baptism 5 February 1815.
[See Lunn Report of 5 Aug 1986 for more parish records of McCrimmon, etc. in Co. Inverness]
Kirkton in Glenelg appears to be practically in the village of Glenelg, perhaps to the north of the village center.
Farquhar, his wife, and young daughter emigrated to Ontario, Cannada in the late summer of 1815 on the ship Eliza, Captain Telfer, from Greenock (in Renfrewshire, i.e. the port for Glasgow). The passengers were loading in July 1815, and the ship sailed on 3 August with 123 emigrants, but apparently had to return to Scotland three times for repares before finally embarking.
Among the passengers on the Eliza:
 McCrimmon, Farquhar, age 28 (b. 1787), farmer
wife, Rachel McRae, age 23 (b. 1792) child, Catherine 1/2, Glenelg. Farquhar's parents and siblings also took passage, and Rachel's appear to have also.

The petition included an affidavit by Kenneth McRae, Sr., and Kenneth McRae, Jr., both of West Hawkesbury, who were fellow passengers on Eliza in 1815 with Farquhar and Rachael McRae. Note on outside: "John McCrimmon recommended for scrip equal to 100 acres app by council 3 July 1850."

In 1826, a Farquhar McCrimmon (likely the same here), along with Norman McLeod of Lochiel, was a bondsmen for the marriage of Duncan McCrimmon (probably Farquhar's brother) of Kenyon, bachelor, & Ann McLeod, spinster, of Lochiel.

The remains of Farquhar and Rachel McCrimmon and some other relation are interred in McLaughlin Cemetery, which is situated within a couple miles south of Vankleek Hill, near Aberdeen, West Hawkesbury Twp., Prescott Co., Ontario (and within two miles east of the old John McCrimmon lot on Ridge Road). However, it is most likely that some of these people (especially those who died prior to 1890) were originally buried at the Vankleek Hill Church. According to Madeleine McCrimmon, when Knox Church at Vankleek Hill was to expand in 1890, it was necessary to encroach on the graveyard, and those graves were dug up and remains reinterred at McLaughlin Cemetery. The fact that remains were moved helps explain why many monuments in McLaughlin Cemetery include names for a whole family group (they were likely reinterred together).
According to Transcriptions by Jeannette Logan and Margaret Patenaude (Ottawa Branch of OGS, 2007), Farquhar McCrimmon was aged 91 years at his death, 9 March 1875. This agrees with the age he gave in his 1850 affidavit, stating that he was 30 when he emigrated in 1815, but does not agree with the age given on the Eliza ship record, stating he was 28 at the time. Since the affidavit and his grave apparently agree, I show he was born between March 1784 and March 1785.
From information provided by Miss Madeline McCrimmon of Vankleek hill, Ontariom (letter dated July 27, 2008), there are six (6) tombstones in Mclaughlin Cemetery for people named McCrimmon. Five of the tombstones are inscribed with information for a whole family group. I have transcribed the information from these grave stones into this family tree under the appropriate persons for all but one stone:
Mary McInnes, wife of Neil McCrimmon, died April 13, 1910, aged 81 years (hence b. abt. 1829). [From other records, Neil McCrimmon married Mary McInnes 13 March 1851, and they lived at Hawkesbury, Prescott Co., Ontario in 1851; I do not know who his parents were.--NMS]
Note:   Corroborating claims from various researchers all indicate that Farquha
