Continued:   Her 1846 marriage record indicates she lived at Mallenczin at that time, but banns were published in Nuenburg (now Nowe, Poland), a small but important city along the Vistula River, about 60 miles to the south. This indicates that she or her family may have lived in Nuenburg previously.
  Her death record states that she died at 8 o'clock in the evening on 11 April 1861, aged 49 years and 19 days. Her cause of death was "verbrannt bei einer Feuersbrünst" (burned to death in a devastating fire). The next entry in the death registry confirms another death in the same fire: young Bertha Diek, age 14 years, 7 months, daughter of Carl Diek, a deceased school teacher in Ludwigsdorf. This confirms the family story that a cousin died in the same fire -- Bertha's mother, Regina Papennfuss (late wife of Carl Diek), was a sister of Ester Auguste Papenfuss.
