Note: iving in the household of Nelson Forrester in Mt. Pleasant Twp., Scotland Co., MO in 1870. The Census that years shows "A. Forrester, age 38, keeping house". Nelson was widowed and had young children and so his sister may have lived there and helped him. However, Aunt Effie (Forrester) Mayfield of Napa Valley, California, wrote that Amanda married Stewart Musgrave, brother of Abner Musgrave. Published marriage records, in fact, show that Amanda Forrester and Stewart Musgrave were married 11 March 1858 in Scotland Co., MO. She could have been a widow by 1870. Madeline Troyer indicates that Amanda was widowed and married a second time, Clemens R. Heryford 11 Nov. 1886. C. R. Heryford was also a resident of Sand Hill Twp., Scotland Co., MO and probably knew the Forresters for years before this marriage. However, Madeline also states that this family is found in census records in 1870 and 1880 living in Shasta County California, so where did Amanda live in 1870 and where did she marry second?
