a. Continued:   Old family notes gave her birthday as 8 Oct. 1829. The family Bible of Tamar Phillips Taylor records Almira's birth date as "November 10th, 1829."
  Tombstone inscriptions of Schoolcraft Cemetery show Almira, wife of Edgar E. Phillips, died Jan. 8, 1863, aged 34 yrs.
  According to old family notes, Almira was the daughter of Amos Knapp who was born in New York and came to Michigan by way of Canada. Her mother was Lady Elizabeth Blezzard, daughter of Lord John Blezzard, a native of England. Almira also had a brother, John B. Knapp, of Winona, Minn. These traditions are corroborated by other accounts, but I have found no records.
  A hand-stitched red and white quilt and some personal notes of Almira Ann (Knapp) Phillips are in the possession of Mrs. Rod Phillips and her daughter, Bev Christensen, of Trask Mountain Rd., Tillamook, Oregon.
