Continued: Aura Lee was born at "Aunt" Florence Whealen's house on Millard Ave/St., Pasadena, California. Her grandfather, R.C. Sheedy had taken the job of construction foreman for the Arlington Memorial Bridge in Washington, D.C. and traveled west shortly before Aura Lee was born. Her grandmother, Florence (Phillips) Sheedy, stayed with Bob and Ara at Aunt's house, but the other boys, Carl, Gale and Forrest, were sent to Phillips Ranch at Northport, Washington. When Aura Lee was two weeks old, Bob and Ara took her to Northport, picked up her uncles Carl, Gale and Forrest, and the six of them drove cross-country an open-air ford Model T, arriving at Washington, D.C. a couple weeks later.
