a. Note:   (Alpena is now in Jerauld Co., SD) Uncle Floyd spent quite a bit of time with his nephew, Carl Sheedy. One time, they went to a baseball game in Centerville, Alameda Co., CA and a hit ball landed in the pocket of Floyd's overcoat. Floyd and Carl delivered and set pilings for the 1939 World's Fair in San Francisco Bay.
During the Great Depression, Floyd and Billy left Northport, WA for California, walking and hitch-hiking. At the upper Sacramento River, they procured a rowboat and boated all the way to the Bay. They lived for a time with his "Aunt" Florence Whealen and Floyd's mother, Mary E. (Whealen) Phillips in Pasadena, Los Angeles Co., CA. Floyd and Billy had no issue.
Another old family note states Floyd died Aug. 29th, 1943.
