Note: sfer from Marietta MM, Marshall Co., IA to Chewelah, Stevens Co., WA by Marietta MM 13 December 1890. She lived with her sister's Philips family in Northport, Stevens Co., WA for many years and helped take care of the Phillips children. She had a Green parrot named "Holly Parrot" who was much beloved and could recite the entire Lord's Prayer. Polly Parrot tricked the young Phillips and Sheedy boys on many occasions by calling their names; they would stop their work or play and return to the house, thinking their mother or Aunt had called them. Polly Parrot also got the boys in trouble by whistling at girls; such lewd behavior was not tolerated. Aunt removed to Pasadena California to be with another sister, relation and her mother in the 1930s. Her sister, Mary Elizabeth (Whealen) Phillips, also removed to Pasadena and helped care for her. They lived together for several years. In Aunt's advanced years, she became slightly senile. She died in Pasadena. Old Polly Parrot survived her and lived for some years with the family of Florence W. (Phillips) Sheedy in CA and elsewhere.
