a. Note:   n history books of Macomb, Allegan and Barry counties.
Past and Present of Macomb County, Michigan, by Robert F. Eldridge (1905), pp. 635-636, notes that Phineas Walker settled in Sec. 6 of Warren Twp., Macomb Co., MI in 1836.
I'm not sure this is the same man who was later in Barry Co., but will note this here:
 1840 Census (Roll 204, p. 266)
 Walton, Eaton Co., MI
 Phineas Walker
1 male under 5 1 male 5-10 1 male 15-20 1 male 50-60 2 females 10-15 1 female 40-50 1 female 60-70 (Note, if this is the same man who was later in Barry Co., then juding from his age in 1860, he would have been abt. 50 or 51 in 1840--hence b. abt. 1789 or 1790, which is not too far from the estimated birthdate of 1783. The woman who was 40-50 was probably his wife, and the woman who was noted as being 60-70 might have been his mother or mother-in-law.)
This household in Barry Co. was apparently enumerated twice in 1860 (note slightly different information for the same people):
 1860 US Census (Roll: 536 Page: 707)
Asyria, Barry Co., MI (enumerated 27 June 1860)
