Notes
a. Note:   rom a family Bible record kept by Josephine Phillips of Youngstown, New York--say Susan's birth year was 1793 or 1795. Transcriptions from her tombstone also reads 24 February, but one transcriber gives the year as 1791 and another as 1794.
Her married name is given as Washburn in old family notes, which is confirmed by cemetery inscriptions.
Susan, her husband, Dr. John Washburn, and three of their children were buried at Parma Corners Cemetery, Town of Parma, Monroe Co., New York. This cemetery is located on the east side of Union Street about ¼ mile south of Ridge Road West. Tombstone inscriptions transcribed July 1928 by Mary T. Douglas:
 WASHBURN
Edwin P., son of John & Susan; Feb. 14, 1821- July 23, 1821 Elijah P., son of John & Susan; March 20, 1824 - Sept. 2, 1824 Ellen A.; see Ellen A. TRIMMER (no dates given, wife of Col. E. Trimmer)
John, M.D.; d Sept. 22, 1853 æ 67y Susan, wife of John; Feb. 24, 1791 (sic) - Feb. 22, 1825 Another daughter is also buried there: Mary (Washburn) Peck, wife of Lewis Peck, d. 7 June (sic) 1886, aged 69.
From compiled records of the Parma Corners Cemetery, a gravestone was erected for Lewis Peck 28 Oct. 1881 for $90. The monument's north side reads "Washburn", and south side "Peck"--from Cemetery Bk. 2, p. 80 (or 90?).
Parma Cemetery inscriptions (including only graves with monuments), compiled by Thomas E. Burger, cemetery sup't., shows Lot C-87:
 John Washburn, M.D., d. Sept. 27, 1853, ae. 67
 Susan Washburn, b. Feb. 24, 1794 (sic), d. Feb. 22, 1825 (or 23?)
 Lewis Peck, b. Oct. 12, 1811, d. march 5, 1880
Mary Washburn Peck, d. Oct. (sic) 7, 1886, ae. 69
  ***
The probate record of Elihu L. Phillips (1800-1884) indicates that Mary W. Peck (d. 1886) was a neice. Other reocrds indicate that she was the daughter of Dr. John and Susan (Phillips) Washburn. This proves that Susan (Phillips) Washburn and Elihu L. Phillips were siblings.
Dr. John Washburn shows up in the 1830 census alone, so daughter Mary must have been cared for by other relatives (she would have been about 13 at that time).

The following notice, dated 4 Dec. 1818, was printed in at least four issues of the Rochester Telegraph (in Dec. 1818 and early 1819--date and page number of the issue not printed on the page). It is probably for the same John Washburn:
