Nathan Knapp (b. abt 1839, of Winona, MN, may be a son of Amos Knap and Elizabeth Buzzard/Blizzard -- hence a brother of Almira Ann Knapp (1829-1863), wife of Edgar E. Phillips of Kalamazoo Co., MI and Marshall Co., IA. If not a son, Nathan may be a nephew of Amos.
Nathan Knapp, of Winona, MN, on 2 Jan. 1865, sold to Edgar E. Phillips of Kalamazoo Co., MI 80 acres situated in Buchanon Co., IA for $300. Previously, this land was sold for back-taxes of $4.49; on Dec. 7, 1864 it was redeemed by Nathan Knapp of Winona, MN by paying $7.45. The taxes for 1862 had been delinquent also and Nathan Knapp redeemed the land by paying $6.35 on or after 6 Oct. 1863.
Almira's brother, John B. Knapp (b. 1833) also resided in Winona, Winona Co., MN and their father, Amos Knapp (b. abt. 1806 or 1808) removed there, too. There were other Knapps in Michigan and Minnesota. It seems very likely that this Nathan Knapp was close to the same family.

A 1859 deed in Winona County, Minnesota indicates that Nathan Knapp (who may opr may not be the same) was, at that time, of Schoolcraft, Kalamazoo Co., MI. He was involved in land transactions with George Knapp and wife Adelaid, of Prairie Ronde, Kalamazoo Co., MI. George Knapp was also involved with land transactions in Winona Co., MN with David Knapp, and George was involved in land transactions with Hubbard Knapp, suggesting that they are all related.
