Note: ned in the division of the estate of George Phillips in 1756-1758. I have not found a record of his death, but he certainly died before December 1756, at which time he would have been no older than 14. *** Some family researchers claim (erroneously) that George Phillips (b. 1742) was the father of a George Phillips who was born 5 March 1772 in Exeter, Washington Co., RI; he married Nancy (or Mary) Rose 21 Mar 1796, and died 24 February 1843 in Preston, New London Co., CT. This younger George Phillips might be related somehow, but he certainly was not a son of George Phillips (b. 1742).
