Note: d followed that trade for several years. In 1859, he and others engaged in the manufacture of carriages in Centreville, Providence Co. later, in the same place, he succeeded Caleb Waterman in the undertaking business. He removed to Woonsocket in 1871 where he continued in the undertaking business until 1883 when he sold the business to J.G. Smith & Co. Israel was a member of the local school committee of North Providence and a member of the Woonsocket town council. (information from Ken Sheedy of Camrose, Alberta)
