  Augsburg church minutes:
 August Schukar, Friedrich Schukar and August Wuehle stood up for a woman who was being abused by her husband. Minutes that I've read don't give the details, but that's what Sharon Dolly said.

Treas of trustees, August Schukar. (Could the absence of Fr. Schukar's name indicate he was already disabled by the mule accident?)
 April 1882 - report of pledges to Fr. Schukar for pastor's salary (for 1881) is included.
Note:   Emigrated from Hamburg on _Julie_, arr NY 25 May 1852. Was a vorsteher and vorsinger at Immanuel. On his death records he was described as "a devout Christian, one of the best active members, if not _the best_." Died of injuries from a hors
