http://stjohnsauers.org/id4.html - History of St. John's Lutheran Church, Jackson county, Indiana -- For several years, one of St. John's early teachers, Frederick Fellwock, operated a post office from his home. The mail was brought from Seymour to Dudleytown, and then to Sauers, by Henry Brummer. The US Postal Service listed the post office in Mr. Fellwock's home as "Sauers", in recognition of its most widely known citizen, Pastor J. G. Sauer, who served here from 1848 to 1885.
