 Monday, June 13, 1921
 Mrs. Sarah Valjean, for many years a highly honored resident of this city passed away several days ago at her home in Anaheim, California where she had resided for some time. She was ill many weeks and was unconcious 36 hours before she passed away. She was the widow of the late J. E. Valjean, who died three years ago. He was the editor of the Portsmouth Blade and was one of the best known editors in Ohio during the time he was able to look after his editorial work. Mrs. Valjean is survived by three sons and a daughter, Anna, Ben who is in Los Angeles, Eugene who is employed by the Government and Audubon, who is located in Bisbee, Arizona. Owing to the recent floods in that section, Audubon was unable to reach Anaheim to attend the last rites of his mother. Mrs. Valjean was a woman who possessed many loveable traits of character and will be missed. She leaves many dear friends here, who will recall the Valjean family when they resided on the Chillicothe Pike just north of the city. Mrs. Valjean was buried beside her husband in the Mausoleum in Anaheim.
