Mrs. Lucy M. Beecher, nearly 72 years old and a sister of Mrs. Cornelia P. Blanchard, died at the Blanchard home in this city at 5 o'clock on Tuesday morning, Feb. 6, following an illness of three weeks due to a general breakdown. Mrs. Beecher was born at Maquoketa, Iowa, on April 5, 1845, and virtually all her life had been passed in that state, she coming to Harvard two years ago to make her home with her sister, Mrs. Blanchard. Mrs. Beecher was a member of the M. E. church at VanHorne, Iowa. Though a resident of Harvard but a short time, Mrs. Beecher was known to quite a large number and was held in high esteem. She is survived by one son, Thos. W. Houser, of Alamosa, Colo., a brother, Leverett W. Usher, of Maquoketa, Iowa, a sister, Mrs. Blanchard, of this city, a grandson, Denver Houser, and two granddaughters, Fern and Hazel Houser. Funeral services for Mrs. Beecher will take place this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Blanchard home. Rev. D.S. Moore, pastor of the M.E. Church, will officiate. Mrs. H.J. Ferris and Mrs. Chas. Bolts will render a few appropriate musical selections. Burial will be in Mt. Auburn. Relatives present to attend the funeral include the son, Thomas Houser, who has been here for several weeks; Mr. and Mrs. H. Hall of Walworth and members of the J. W. Blodgett family from Lake Geneva, Wis.
