Email from Don Lynch, don_lynch@msn.com, Dec. 2007. I saw your entry on Rootsweb.com for Rodney Montague, and thought you might be interested in what it says on his headstone at Angelus Rosedale Cemetery in Los Angeles. Rodney Montague of Wilmington, Vermont was born August 8, 1800 and died March 6, 1886. Louisa A. Denison Montague of "Sabrook" Connecticut was born June 8, 1813 and died May 25, 1871. Mrs. Montague may have been moved there from the old City Cemetery in downtown Los Angeles as Angelus Rosedale (then Rosedale) was not founded until 1884.
Note: Went to Texas with her husband in 1852, lived there until May 1855/6 when they started for Calif. She was an invalid when they started, but her health steadily improved. Her son Horace was born on the way, and died on the Gieola (Gila?) River
