 Old DeWitt Cemetery: Was known as Oakridge Cemetery in 1885 according to the DeWitt Observer of June 3. It is located in the city of DeWitt at 8th Ave and 14th Street on the north side of the St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery.

  USHER-- At the home of his son-in-law, D.W. Forbes, in DeWitt, Feb. 7th. 1885, of old age, after five weeks of almost painless illness, Dr. Charles Lee Usher, uged 84 years and five months.
 Dr. Usher was born in Madison county, N.Y., in 1800, came to Iowa in 1842 and settle at Maquoketa, where he prosecuted his profession until the decrepitudeof age interposed. During the past five years deceased made his home at his daughter's where he died. Two sons and three daughters survive him. He was a cousin of John P. Usher, a member of Lincoln's cabinet. -- DeWitt Observer
