Notes
a. Note:   Maiden name from death certificate of son Albert, 1940, and dau Elvira. The Weekly Gazette, Friday March 1890. Notes of personal and local interest from Oak Grove.
We regret to announce the death of our esteemed neighbor, Mrs. Susan Houser, who peacefully passed away on the morning of March 18 at the age of 76 years. She was the widow of the late David Houser, a member of the Lutheran Church for a number of years and was possessed of all the virtues that made life beautiful. She has been afflicted for a number of years and has born her afflictions with Christian fortitude. She leaves a large number of children who mourn her loss. She was an old lady courtly in her speech and always had a pleasant word for everyone. Her hand was always open to her friends and acquaintances in time of need. She was followed to her last resting place by a large circle of friends and acquaintances there to remain until the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God and come forth.
