He was taken ill Wednesday of last week. Burial was in Watertown cemetery. Rites were conducted by the Rev. Henry Pralla. The body, in charge of the Anderson funeral home, arrived in Kearney Sunday noon. Mr. Labs was born in Germany, came to the United States 63 years ago, had lived at Amherst for approximately half a century. Survivors include two sons, Walter of Webster City and Gustave of Amherst; four daughters, Mrs. Anna Grimes of Norton, Kas., Mrs Minnie Anthes of Plattsmouth, Mrs. Paula Mauls of Santa Cruz, Calif., and Mrs. Marie Scharfogel of Santa Cruz; and 25 grandchildren.
