Note: Reed Sturgeon HENDERSON, W.Va. August 2, 2003 HENDERSON---Reed Sturgeon, 89, of Henderson, West Virginia, died Saturday, August 2, 2003, at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. He was born July 21, 1914, in Pliny, West Virginia, son of the late Nip Sturgeon and Bessie Steele Sturgeon. He was a former employee of the TNT Plant in Point Pleasant, and had attended Wyoma Pentecostal Church at Gallipolis Ferry, West Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Thornton Sturgeon; a son, Charles Sturgeon; a sister, Sara Warden; and four brothers, Raymond, John, Jason and Rueben Sturgeon. He is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Wamsley of Henderson, and Barbara Ann and Dorothy; three sons, Reed Sturgeon Jr. of Henderson, Dennis Lee Sturgeon of Henderson, and Richard Sturgeon of Indiana; and several grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Ada Gilpin of Point Pleasant, Louisa Hamilton of Columbus, Ohio, and June of Columbus; and two brothers, Aire Sturgeon of Columbus, and Lewis Sturgeon of Point Pleasant. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2003, in the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Brother Walter O. Eads Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirkland Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2003. Notice entered Monday, August 04, 2003.
