Note: Melvin and Jennie married in a double wedding at the home of Ruby McDonald, the other bride. Obituary ---- Melvin Kriger, Tyrone Farmer, Taken by Death KENT CITY - Melvin J. Kriger, 84, prominent Tyrone Township farmer, died at his home Saturday afternoon after a long illness. He was born April 20, 1864, in Ashland Township, Newaygo County. He had lived in Tyrone Township for 55 years. He was a former Justice of the Peace and Director and Treasurer of the Snow School District. Surviving are two sons, Ernest B., of Tyrone Township, and Robert J., cashier of the Kent City State Bank; three daughters, Mrs. Lowell Anderson and Mrs. Edward Stream of Kent City, and Mrs. Francis Jackson of Grant; one brother, Ernest M. Kriger of Pentwater; two sisters, Mrs. Ernma Carpenter of Wilmette, Ill., and Miss Anna Kriger of Kent City, and nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. The body will repose at the McKinley Chapel, Grant until Monday morning when it will be taken to the late residence. Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Kent City Methodist Church.
