Notes
a. Continued:   I find the following posting interesting. Rather than Seth Henry and Louvisa each being 1/2 native American, they may have each been 1/4. The Cherokee story seems to come from the Huddleston family, Seth's mother, and it is most likely that it was her mother that was an Indian.
I have not seen this claim in the Elliott line, but Louvisa's grandmother, the wife of Thomas Parham is unknown and informtion on him has been scarce. She may very well have been of Indian descent.
Seth's son William Lafayette Barnes married Lular Nutt. Her mother looked very much like an Indian and it is possible that both of her parents had some Native American ancestors. MAM

Seth is buried facing west. According to Homer Barnes, his grandson, he wanted to "come up" with Jesus. According to Dewey Barnes, his grandson, he had enemies buried in Bucksnort to the east and wanted to "come up" facing them. Both stories
probably contain some truth! ( Marcia McClure)
