Continued: Robert was my grandfather. He died before I was born so I never had an opportunity to know him. Sadly, I know very little about him. He and my Grandma divorced when my Mom was in high school. He was most likely an alcoholic and that was the main reason for their divorce.
In my Grandma's later years, she forgot about Kenneth, who she was happily married to for over 50 years, and talked a lot about Robert. She remembered him fondly and spoke more about him than ever before. He obviously was a great love of her life.
In 1930 they lived next to his brother Homer in Dallas Co, AR.
Robert Barnes was killed in a car accident near Greencastle, IN. Robert, his second wife,and his brother Walter were killed in the accident. They were returning from Fordyce, AR were they had buried Walter's young son.
