  May have been named for Samuel B Crawford who was an Episcopal Methodist preacher in Henry Co, GA. SB Crawford was born in Pendleton Dist, SC c 1796.

  My Grandma (Mamie Green) was afraid of Crafford. Maybe he was loud or something but she wasn't real fond of him. My Great Aunt Beth, Johnny Odwin's wife, told me the only story that I know about him.
  He and the boys had been out at one of their cabins hunting or fishing. On the way home, very drunk, Crafford fell off the wagon. His buddy whoed them horses and backed it up. He leaned over the side and said, "Mr Crafford Green are you alright?" He replied, "I will be if you stop running over me." Marcia McClure
