Note: In 1938 George was working in the Knole Park Shop ( a golf shop ) as a shop boy and caddie master.
In 1924 George was joined by his brother Harry and ran a haulage and garage business in the Rose and Crown Yard. In 1937 they parted company when the Rose and Crown Hotel was demolished to make way for the new furniture department store of Youngs.
