a. Note:   Margaret Brennan's birth is always stated as November 25th. But the ye ar has been listed as 1863 on tombstone, 1862 in the History Of Knox C o., 1912 edition and 1861 on her death certificate. 1880 Census for Kn ox County shows her age as 18.

 d. December 18, 1933
  Mrs. Margaret Brennan Ryan, the wife of S.H. Ryan, and a well known re sident of St. Augustine, died at 12:50 this morning in St. Mary’s Hosp ital where she had been a patient for two weeks. Mrs. Ryan’s health h ad been poor for several years.
  Margaret Brennan, the daughter of Thomas and Alice Madden Brennan, was b orn in Abingdon 72 years ago, where she attended the public schools. Sh e received high school education in Abingdon and Galesburg , when her p arents moved here. In Galesburg she was married to S.H. Ryan on Febru ary 18, 1901. The couple lived for a few years at Williamsfield, but a n umber of years ago moved to St. Augustine, where they have operated a g eneral store.
  Surviving are her husband and one daughter, Genevieve, the postmistress a t St. Augustine; a sister Mrs. T.D. Brown of Galesburg; and a niece, M rs. Edwin Flake of Stronghurst. She also leaves three stepchildren, E lmer Ryan and Mrs. Doris Morris of Peoria, and Mrs. Edna Ryan Rush of G alesburg.
  Mrs. Ryan belonged to St. Augustine Catholic church, and the altar soc iety of the church. She was a charter member of the Lady Foresters, a nd held membership in the St. Mary’s hospital association of Galesburg.
  Funeral services will be held at 9 o’clock Thursday morning from Corpus C hristi church in Galesburg, with burial in St. Joseph’s cemetery. The r emains will be taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. T.D. Brown, 838 W illard, on Wednesday morning, where friends may call anytime.
