Jonathan and Jane were living in Southport in 1847 when daughter Olive was born. Enumerated in Jackson township, Tioga County, Pennsylvania in 1850 beside the household of his mother Hannah and brother Elisha. Jonathan perhaps deceased by the 1860 census enumeration when Jane and daughters were living in Southport with her parents. He has no marker in Pine City Cemetery where Jane was later buried and he may have been buried on the family farm with his father. Jane d. 14 Mar 1861 buried Pine City Cemetery. Asahel and Sally enumerated in the 1865 state census of Southport with granddaughters Olive and Alice in the household. <b>Olive Ames</b> b. 24 Aug 1847 Southport (town vital record). <b>Alice E. Jan 1824 daughter of <b>Thomas Andrews</b> and <b>Orilla Bywaters</b> of Trowbridge. Farmer, enumerated in Jackson township in 1860. Resided on farm and later moved to Millerton, Pennsylvania. Elisha d. 22 Apr 1900 from an accident as the result of his own team of horses running over him buried Alder Run Cemetery. Sally continued to reside at the family home until 1914 when she went to live with granddaughter Ettie and her family in Southport and there d. 14 Nov 1914 buried with Elisha. <b>Martha Jane Ames</b> b. 5 Nov 1852. <b>Orrin Thomas Ames</b> b. 20 Jan 1855 d. 4 May 1872 buried Alder Run Cemetery. <b>Permelia Ames</b> b. 8 Apr 1862 d. 19 July 1878 of consumption (obituary) buried Alder Run Cemetery. <b>Martha Jane Ames</b> b. 5 Nov 1852 m. <b>James K. Leonard enumerated in Warren, Herkimer County, New York in 1830 near household of brother Orrin with one male under age five (b. 1826-30), one male of age twenty and under age thirty (b.1801-10), one female under age five (b. 1826-30), one female of age twenty and under age thirty (b. 1801-10), and one female of age sixty and under age seventy (b. 1761-70). The Mansfield Advertiser of December 15, 1897 states – “The late Mrs. Leonard Ames, of Jackson, was one of a class of fourteen that were baptized in February, 1832 – sixty-five years ago, of whom Russell Friends, of Jackson, is now the only survivor.” This would imply the family had removed to Jackson by February 1832.
