Re: Mary Watson jhthomas47 (View posts) Posted: 04 Apr 2005 09:57PM Classification: Query Surnames: Thomas, Watson, Smith, Best, Westbrook, Steinhauser I am looking for any information on Isabell Craigh and Hugh Watson, married on 9 May 1771 in Hanover, PA according to Lutheran marriages (early). These could be my 3rd Great Grand Parents if they settled in Columbia County, Madison Township, PA about 1776? They would have had, children, of at least 8 boys and 3 girls. I know of children David Watson b. 12 Aug 1776, Sarah Watson b. 21 Jan 1772. Also associating names of James, Allen, Thomas, Samuel and Mary Watson as possible children. David (my 2nd Great Grandfather and James moved to Ontario, Canada about 1812 with several others from PA. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ Genealogy.com Information for Mary Watson m. David Campbell abt.1792/3. Believed she came from NJ and parents had servents,$ etc. They moved through Lancaster, PA 1793 then on to Northumberland Couny, Shamokin Twp. PA.1800. David was a Naylor (nailmaker) by trade and blacksmith. Have lost track of Mary abt 1815. Her last child was born 1812. ___ Carmella, I have no information on your query but an interesting possibility and a question of my own.We have a David Campbell b. about 1770 in Pa married Mary Watson "of NJ"Jan 31 1793 in Pa.Their children (7 living; 7 died at birth b. 1793-1812 b. in PA) are all known and documented but not all their descendents. There is a Henry William. (line known.) And Wm is name used regularly by known descendents. What caught my attention was the first name of WATSON. Do you have any idea why that was used? David, above, also had by family history, 4 brothers. One is known the other three are being worked on.There is a obit for a descendent that states this information and the fact that the brothers went separate ways and contact was lost. one of these brothers is a William. All were thought to have stayed in the PA/NY area. But??.....no documented proof yet for sure.........we are unsure of their descendents where abouts. How do you know your Wm, was born in VA? If any of this strikes a cord I can give you what else I have, most of this work has been done by a generation long gone and other "cousins" not myself. David Campbell and Mary Watson marriage, children and some descendent lines are documented in a Bible inherited and held by a 4th cousin. ____ <b>Butch B.
