Mr. Griffith had suffered from heart trouble for some time,but was apparently in his usual health and was about the streets the afternoon previous to his death. The funeral services were held at his late home Saturday afternoon, Rev. R.C. Shergar officiating, and interment was made at Nondaga Cemetery at Bath. George Griffith was born in Michigan, December 25, 1844, and at the age of nine years, came with his parents to this vicinity. He was successfully engaged in farming at Wayne NY, until 37 years ago, when he removed to Savona where he has since resided. He leaves one daughter, Mrs. John Merrill, of Savona, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Campbell of Elmira and Mrs. Julia Yout of Bradford. Among the out of town relatives who attended thefuneral we note: DeWitt S. Campbell, Mrs. Alice F. Allen and Miss Stella Brooks of Elmira, Miss Ella Aulls of Buffalo, Mrs. Julia Yost, Mr and Mrs. Charles DeWitt, Miss Sarah DeWitt, Milton DeWitt, Mr and Mrs. Wayne Whitehead of Bradford, Mr and Mrs. Judson Horton, Mr and Mrs. Clayton Horton and Mrs. Miranda Knickerbocker of Tyrone, Mrs. Viola Morrell, Mr and Mrs. Albert Clark, Mrs. Myrtle Van Gelder and DeWitte Brundage of Bath. Mr. Griffith was an upright and honorable citizen, a loving husband and father, a faithful friend and good neighbor,whose presence will be missed by many friends. ____________________________________________
