Born c.1663, Mrs. Darkis Dodge died in "the 74th year of her age". Widowed three years earlier, she had been the wife of Tristram Dodge the younger, son and namesake of early Block Island settler Trustrum Dodge Sr., paterfamilias of the Dodge Family. The inscription on her slate headstone reads:
"Here
Lies ye Body
of Darkis ye widow of
Truftrum Dodge who
Died Febry ye 18
1737 in ye 74th
year of her Age"
