Note: Adoption record ___ At Chambers, in the City and County Hall, in the City of Buffalo. August 1st, 1892. Present, Hon. Joseph V. Seaver, County Judge of Erie County. In the Matter of the Adoption of Theresa Lincoln, A Minor Child under twelve years of age. Theresa Lincoln, the mother of the above named minor, having died on or about the 24th day of June, 1890, and the consent of Frank H. Lincoln, the father of said child, not being necessary by reason of his abandonment, and S. R. Delmarter, the lawful custodian of said infant, having this day given her content in writing, and Preston C. Cutler and Amanda Cutler, his wife, having this day appeared before the undersigned, County Judge of Erie County, and the parties having signed the necessary consents, and the said Preston C. Cutler having executed an agreement to the effect that the said child shall be adopted by him and treated in all respects as his own child should be treated, and the minor and the said parties having been each separately examined, and after reading the affidavit of S. R. Delmarter, and I, being satisfied that the moral and temporal interests of said minor child will be promoted by its adoption by said Preston C. Cutler for the following reasons: The said Preston C. Cutler has no family except a wife, and is well able to care for, educate and maintain, the child in a proper manner. The said Preston C. Cutler and his wife having a good home, it is deemed best for all concerned that they be allowed to adopt said child. I do hereby in pursuance of Chapter 830 of the Laws of 1873 as amended by Chapter 58 of the Laws of 1889, order and direct that the said Theresa Lincoln shall hereafter be treated in all respects as the child of the said Preston C. Cutler. Joseph V. Seaver, County Judge of Erie County. Sealed in Erie County Clerk's Office of State of New York. I, Charles N. Brayton, Clerk of said County, do hereby certify that I have compared the annexed Copy ORDER and Copy Endorsements thereon, with an Original HERETO and its Endorsements THERE ON entered and on file in this office, and find the same to be true transcripts of and from the said Originals, and the whole of each thereof. In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said County, at Buffalo, this 1 day of Aug 1892.
