Don's message to Carol Stilwell Shirley:

  Thank you for replying.
My great grandmother Theresa Cutler Lincoln was adopted by Cutler couple according to the clipping I just gave you. My mother knew Theresa Cutler well through her mother’s side. Theresa must be apart from her sister Elizabeth who lived with her aunt according to your message.
Your family memory should be more “accurate” than what I have about Elizabeth. I see Henry Bohle might be connected to Theresa Cutler’s mother Theresa but I am unable to find any relationship between the Theresa Bohle and Henry. It could be by some marriage or other relative. It makes sense that the family can be split due to mental health issues.
So our common ancestor may be Frank H. Lincoln. Nice to meet you, Cousin.

i have not read any of this yet---as i told you i have no skills----my father was so interested in all of this and never once mentioned his mother's side---- i have through the years been interested---and has been a dead end---- we thought maybe her mother was in a mental institution--- or an unwed mother---- i have one cousin alive marcia who is marietta daughter-- who had told me that elizabeth had a sister--but we thought from a different mother.
i know elizabeth was brought up in machias---by her aunt----i can not spell the name right now---delmanter(sp) and marcia would always say she was brought up by henry bohle--but never had the right spelling.
and at the delmanter there is a franklin lincoln living with them--according to the free mormon site
i contacted you because---ancestry had the new hints on the front---and there was a note from bobby wixom and i saw where you had read it- i called my cousin and read it to her and she was so mad---she is the one that came up to perry city every summer with her mother marietta she played with bobby wixom- and marcia said-bobby saying his house was bigger when wixoms still had an outhouse-and grandma had inside plumbing. and the reference to the goiter---i never saw one and neither did marcia------and the last thing when she asked about lincoln --that was a reference to lincoln being in willard state hospital where he died of mental illness. i don't know if it is from the stilwells or the lincolns. my brother killed himself and 32---and my other brother died a couple years ago from mental illness.
i thought i had it figured out last week when i found theresa lincoln's grave from someone's tree-- i had it that she died when grandma was 8 --and her sister theresa was 5 is why she went to live with relatives in machia --there was never any knowledge of where theresa was---and only that there was a sister but once again ---marcia told me tressa---
i appreciate your getting back to me---
my three kids are on--robert shirley---john shirley and karen shirley king and my granddaughter madison king
thanks so much for taking the time getting back to me---carol stilwell shirley
