 Fred was a Baptist minister until he decided to go abroad as a Y.M.C.A. secretary during World War I. He was first stationed at Knotty Ash Camp, then went to Russia, but was not there long, as the war ended and he went to England, where he stayed. He was in Liverpool, England in April 1923. (R-178)
