Note: Death of Mrs. Fisher - Last Friday morning, Mrs. Christina Fisher, a German woman, and widow of the late Henry Fisher, East Fourth St., came to her death under the following circumstances: Thursday morning she bought twenty cents worth of laudanum which she drank, and then went to the residence of her daughter who lives on West Fifth St., and told her what she had done, stating that she wanted to die in her house. As the mind of the deceased was somewhat impaired, her daughter paid little or no attention to what she said. In the evening, however, she was taken sick, when Dr. Chas. Smith was sent for, who was informed of the facts in the case, but the symptoms manifested were not of a character to induce the belief that laudanum had been taken. On Friday morning she was taken with convulsions, when Dr. Smith was again sent for; also, Dr. Johnson, but when they reached the house she was in a dying condition, and died soon after. She was in the 63rd year of her age, and leaves five children. Her remains were interred in the Lutheran graveyard on Sunday afternoon last. Examiner, Frederick, Maryland.
