  Frau Marie M. Schewe
  Yesterday afternoon took place, from the house of the deceased at Belair Road and Brehm’s Lane, the funeral walk of Frau Marie M. Schewe, nee Götz, who died on the 7th of this month at the age of 54 years, with great attendance of mourners at the Jerusalem cemetery. Pastor R. Uhlhorn of the German protestant Church of St. Matthäus at Homestead officiated in the house of the deceased and at the grave; also, Pastor H. Rippe of the German protestant Church of Jerusalem held a moving eulogy at the grave. Plenty of precious flower arrangements decorated the coffin. The Gentlemen Aug. [probably August] Settler, Fritz Lants, Ferd. [probably Ferdinand] Schewe, Theodor Schmidt, Friedrich Eckemener and WM. ([not sure what that abbreviation means] Eisele rendered the last honor as pallbearers of the deceased. The funeral was directed by the company John Herwig & Son. The deceased was born on November 22, 1856, in Bavaria and came to America in 1881. On October 17, 1886, she married Mr. Friedrich August Schewe, who preceded her in death 10 years ago. She leaves behind a son, Mr. Friedrich Wilhelm Schewe, three daughters, the Mrs. Karl Schmidt and Karl Huneke, and Ms. Mamie Schewe, four grandsons, a brother, Mr. Johann Geo. Götz, a sister, Ms. Annie B. Sommer, here, and three sisters in Germany. Ms. Schewe was a member of the German protestant church of St. Matthäus - community in Homestead.

  Funeral from her late residence, Belair Road and Brehm's Lane, this (Sunday) afternoon at 4 o'clock. Interment (private) in Jersalem Cemetery.
