Earl J Knowles went to Arcadia Kansas High School. Played on the High School Varsity Basketball Team, and played Center on the Football Team. Frances L Lockhart Knowles went to grammer school and high school at Dacoma Municipal in Dacoma, Woods County, Oklahoma, and three years to Alva State Teachers College in Alva, Woods County, Missouri, and additonal courses in Omaha Nebraska at Omaha University. She was a school teacher most of her working life, teaching mostly 6th grade.

March 3, 1940 went to work as a city driver in Wichita, Kansas for the Santa Fe Truck Lines. Worked his way up to rate clerk, and route clerk, and then in 1947 was transferred to Tulsa Oklahoma, and then was transferred to Kansas City as General Manager. Worked in Kansas City from 1949 to 1952, and then transferred as General Manager for Santa Fe Truck lines in Omaha Nebraska until 1967 at which time he went to work as General Manager of Burlington Truck Lines in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1962, he was transferred to Chicago, Illinois as District Manager for the Burlington Truck Lines.

Wife Frances, age 25, completed three years of College, born in Oklahoma. Son Roger Eugene, age 1/12 months.
