b. Note:   he grew up in Perry and Jackson Counties. Her parents were Richard and Tabitha Marlow, important in the history of Perry County. At the young age of 14 she wed William Moore in Jackson County, IL in 1843. This marriage only lasted a short time - it's unclear if William died or they divorced. In 1846 she wed W. James Willis in Jackson County with whom she had children Caroline and James. Her husband was a Jackson County Constable and served in The Mexican War. James became a Fortyniner and by 1855 she had joined him in California. She and James Willis divorced about 1856. By 1858 she wed Absolom Sunnafrank, with whom she had children Caroline, Levi, Eli, Frank, Francis Marion, and Addie. The family resided in El Dorado and Napa Counties. Mr. Sunnafrank died in 1879.
