 1814=Marriage - witnesses:- George Smith & William Newstead
 Used the alias Smaller. Real name believed to be Smalley.
 1832=Had another son, Thomas baptised 10/06/1832 but buried 17 days later.
 1837=Committed 1st June 1837 for 40 days at Lincoln for debt.
 1837=Committed 7th August 1837 for felony. Lincoln Gaol Registry states "age 38, height 5' 7", fresh complexion, born Branston, Widower, 2 children, Carpenter, suspected of felony, tried 7/8/1837- 6 days in prison, moderate behaviour and discharged for want of evidence"
 1837=December. Extract from the Lincoln Union Workhouse Minutes 1836-1840. "That the overseers of Branston apprehend Walter Smalley for leaving his family chargeable to that Parish. (Page 128)
 1839=Stole a silver watch £2, a watch chain 6d, 2 seals 1s, 24 pennies and halfpennies from John Mansford.
 1839=On board the "Ganneymede" moored at Chatham and Woolwich following a conviction on 05/01/1839. "A Carpenter, widower with 3 children, imprisoned several times for felony and once for deserting his family. Bad in every respect"
 1839/1840=Sentenced at Lincoln Quarter Sessions to 10 years transportation to New South Wales in 1839. Held on Hulk Justita prior to transportation and then on the ship Eden to New South Wales. Departed on the 8th July, and arrived in New South Wales on the 18th November, 1840 along with 270 other convicts.
 1854=Died in Bathhurst Hospital, New South Wales in 1854.
