a. Note:   Date 28 Sep 1768 John Spradling's wife was Mary Womack, not Mary Oliver. The chancery case of Mary's uncle, William Womack (who died in Charlotte Co., VA without children) names Mary Spradling wife of John Spradling as William Womack's niece. Further evidence in the estate records states that Oliver Spradling moved to Franklin Co., GA. (from Robert Burke, Genforum)
 Mary's grandfather, Thomas Wommack, once owned the land in Henrico County, Virginia, where downtown Richmond, VA is today.
 Thomas Womack, who married Louvisa Rice was Mary's half-brother, the son of her father Abraham and Nancy Blanton who apparently never married.
 After John's death Mary and the family moved to the Carolinas, probably with Mary's sister's family, Charles & Elizabeth (Womack) Cawthon, who moved to Tyron Co., NC and bought land there 21 Jul 1769.
 Mary and family later moved to South Carolina where Mary died. Their sons, John, David, Oliver, and William apparently moved to Burke Co., NC and were listed in records there between 1778 and 1790. The children and grandchildren lived in Franklin Co., GA in 1803, and parts west of there, according to court records involving a dispute over William Womack's Will. William was Mary's uncle.
 John, David, Oliver were lsited in several Franklin County, GA records after 1800. William probably died in North Carolina.
