  This Indenture made this thirty first day of October in the year of our lord one thousand Eight hundred and Ten: Between John Spradling of the county of Franklin and State afforesaid of the one part, and Zebediah Payne of the county and State afforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the s'd John Spradling for and in consideration of the sum of Seventy five dollars to him in hand paid by the said Zebediah Payne at or before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. Granted bargained sold released and confirmed and by these presants doth grant bargain sell release and confirm unto the said Zebediah Payne his heirs [left-hand page of folio 45] & assigns all that tract or parcel of land containing one hundred acres be the same more or less, situate lying and being on a brach of little Shole in the County of Franklin and State aforesaid having such marks and forms as follows, viz., Begining at a post oak corner and runing north 10 East 30 chains to a red oak corner thence East 10 South 30 chains to a white oak corner thence South 10 west to a pine corner thence West 10 North to the begining: Together with all and singular the rights members and appurtenances thereof whatsoever to the said tract Being belonging or in any wise appertaining and the remainders reversions rents issues & profits thereof and of Every part thereof. To have and to hold the said tract of land and all and singular the primicies and appurtenances thereunto belonging as afforesaid and every part thereof unto the said Zebediah Payne his heirs and assigns forever to the only proper use benefit and behoof of the said Zebediah Payne his heirs and assigns forever the said John Spradling for himself and his heirs the tract of land and primicies afforesaid and every part thereof unto the said Zebediah Payne his heirs and assigns against him the said John Spradling for himself and his heirs and all and every other person and persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend the s'd land and primicies by virtue of these presents In witness whereof the said John Spradling hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first above written

  Not proven to be the father of Mary, but Mary was probably a granddaughter of Jonathan 'John' and Mary (Womack) Spradling.
  Mary's husband, William Burt, was listed in the 1801, 1802, 1806, 1808, 1811 and 1819 Franklin Co., GA Tax Lists. Most of their children were born in Franklin Co., GA. One of her sons was named John. Mary (Womack) Spradling's uncle's old disputed will stated that their children and grandchildren lived in Franklin Co., GA in 1803.
