Note: Claire Savoie Marcel, 91, of Bayou Blue, passed away March 8, 2017.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 9, 2017, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Samart Funeral Home and Friday, March 10, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 10, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church, followed by the burial in St. Louis Cemetery.
She is survived by her son, Gene Marcel Sr. (Annie); five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brother, Paul Savoie (Elizabeth); sisters, Erna Labauve (Denny), Ellen Rogers (Clement).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Marcel; son, Carrol Marcel (Jennie); grandson, Gene Marcel Jr.; parents, Edward and Lucille Babin Savoie; brothers, Philip, Murray, and Richard Savoie; sisters, Norma Falgout, Iris Brein, and Ruby S. Daigle.
Samart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
