a. Note:   In 1810 Joseph and his family lived in Lafourche Parish on the west side (now Hwy. 1) of Bayou Lafourche above Raceland, almost directly across the bayou from what is now the Theriot Canal.

 Note: according to the map provided with this book, Joseph's property was near Raceland, Lafourche Parish, LA (between Thibodaux and Raceland along present day Hwy 1 but much nearer to Raceland on the south bank of Bayou Lafourche) It was nearly directly across from present day Theriot Canal.
