 Horis Joseph Caro, 89, a native and resident of Houma, died at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
  He is survived by one son, Jerry Caro and wife, Terri; five grandchildren, James Caro and wife, Melissa, Beth Caro White and husband, Tommy, Natalie Caro Franco and husband, Peter, Peter Caro and wife, Donna, and Amanda LeRay; 11 great-grandchildren, Jacob Delaune and wife, Shea, Taylor Caro, Brianna Caro, Kandice Francis and husband, Ray Jr., Philip Franco, Neomie Franco, Brittney Caro, Blake Caro, Christopher Caro, Ramsey Caro and Alyssa Stanley; and three great-great-grandchildren, Kenzi Francis, Austin Wallace and Shealee Wallace.
  He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Daigle Caro; and his parents, Madio Peter Caro and Neomie Cadiere Caro. Horis was a retired farmer and owner of Caro Produce and a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church. The family would like to thank his longtime caregiver, Patricia Larabee, and caregiver, Arlene Verdin, the doctors, hospitals, home health care and hospice that aided in his care.
