Note: Joyce Augustine Marcel, 95, a native and resident of Houma, died Monday, June 8, 2015.
Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today, Wednesday, June 10, at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma and from 9 a.m. until funeral time Thursday, June 11, at St. Louis Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Thomas and husband, James; grandchildren, Angela Finlan, Alyssa Bergeron and Amanda Manno and husband, Todd; great-grandchildren, Michael Larpenter, Yvonne Russell, Blake Russell, Kyle Finlan, Luke Manno, Jake Manno, Beau Manno, Gabrielle Manno and John Ross Manno; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her spouse, Horace Marcel; parents, Ernest and Clara Gros Hotard; great-granddaughter, Bianca Jade Lindholm; brothers, Alban, Alred, Earny and Faris Hotard; infant brother, Jean Hotard; and sisters, Lorena Brown, Mildred Softley, Marie Theriot and Louise Moore.
Joyce was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church. She took her greatest pleasure in the lives of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and completing puzzles.
The family would like to thank Dr. Russell Henry and staff, Bayou Home Care and staff and Heritage Manor and staff.
Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of arrangements.
