Note: Houma, Terrebonne Parish, LA February 10, 2001 Forest P. "Black" Marcel Forest P. "Black" Marcel, 81, a native of Terrebonne Parish and a resident of Bayou Blue, died at 8:10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2001. Visitation was scheduled from 8 a.m. to funeral time today at St. Louis Catholic Church. Mass was scheduled for 11 a.m. today at the church, with burial in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Claire Savoie Marcel; two sons, Gene A. and Carroll Marcel; two brothers, Erin Marcel of Houma, and Melvin Marcel of Baton Rouge; five sisters, Mae M. Bergeron, Allie M. Tierce, Agnes M. Daigle, Gertrude M. Cantrelle and Mary M. Detillier, all of Houma; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Alfreida Pontiff Marcel; two brothers, Horace Marcel of Bayou Blue, and Francis Marcel of Houma; one sister, Wilma M. Voclain of Houma; and one grandson, Gene Marcel Jr. He was a retired employee of Magcobar, a U.S. Army World War II veteran and a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church.
